Barista™ is the fully database-driven application environment from BASIS. Barista opens up new paths to rapid development of business applications.

In your Barista project, you choose your database including fields, tables and relations all the way to the screens and lookup tables. They are stored in a central repository and combined using the framework, resulting in a ready-for-use application, including an MDI menu system with user administration and role-based authorization.

Numerous functions, such as lookup screens, can even be configured to be user-dependent.

For convenience and flexilbilty, BASIS integrated the graphical design tool iReports to create WYSIWYG reports. To view, print and export your reports in a variety of file formats, BASIS has integrated the Java-based reporting engine JasperReports.

Despite the extensive framework, the developer still retains programming flexibility. Any event-based Java or BBj code can be inserted, allowing for customization and fine tuning of the completed software package. With Barista, your flexibility is not sacrificed for rapid development.
