Anybody can obtain a free developer's license kit for testing and evaluation purposes. They are fully functional product licenses which include the latest versions of BBj and Barista, plus a number of developer-specific functions which are not included in the product runtime version. NFR (not-for-resale) licenses are intended for software developers to implement, test, and maintain their solutions based on BASIS products.

The BASIS NFR license cannot be purchased but should be subscribed to for the number of actual users on your enterprise license category.

Updating and Renewing DVK licenses

DVK licenses are valid for one year. After this period, they can again be extended by re-registering under the then-valid conditions as described above. Doing so, we can stay up to date and measure who is using our products. 

DVK licenses can be updated at any time to the most recent version. Just download the new product release and re-register the serial number and authorization number. After you have downloaded a product DVK licenses are activated on your system.

If you wish to install on a new system, contact us to reset the activation counter.

If you want to install it on a second PC or give it to a colleague (which we encourage you to do) please request another DVK license.

Conditions

DVK licenses must not be resold or used as runtimes in a commercial environment. They are intended for development, demo and evaluation only. Using a free DVK license in a production environment or reselling, renting or leasing them is a violation of the license conditions.
